This gift request will greatly benefit an unaccompanied child with Church World Service (CWS). This request is for two very young siblings who faced an unfortunate scenario in their home country. Skywalker, who is 5 years old, and his sister Minnie, who is 2 years old are both from Russia.
The children were removed from the biological mother’s care due to abuse and neglect. The children were then placed in a Russian orphanage where they stayed for two years until their current adoptive parents were able to adopt them. The adopted parents and siblings then migrated to the US through the southern border due to political persecution from the Russian government. The family lost all of their personal belongings which included the child’s stroller as it was unfortunately seized at the border during the immigration process. The family is currently residing in an area in Florida, where some local churches and providers are assisting them with getting the basic necessities. The adoptive parents are currently using their cell phones to have Skywalker and Minnie watch children’s cartoons. It would be magnificent if a TV was donated so that it could benefit the whole family, especially since the children are not currently enrolled in school. The donated TV would allow the children to have some educational entertainment while not in school yet and provide some comfort as this family adjusts to their new home and community. Posted 5/26/23.

Cash assistance for car down payment
Patricia, her son Prime, 11 years, and daughter Blessing, 6 years, arrived in Nashua, NH, 13 months ago as refugees from the Dzaleka refugee camp in Malawi, Africa where they had lived for, roughly, the past 10 years. The adjustment to America has been difficult for this single mom, who has had little emotional support. It required not only learning the language but also adjusting to our very different culture.
Patricia has persisted, getting a full-time job at SNHMC in Environmental Sciences (cleaning rooms) in July - a job that requires few language skills and allows her a degree of independence. She has been getting English lessons after work. Patricia has learned how difficult it is to obtain affordable childcare. She has also learned that there is not much affordable housing in this area and has filled out innumerable applications. Patricia has supported her children as they've tried to adjust. Prime, especially, requires a village of support - social/emotional, educational, and physical. She has attended many meetings trying to understand how to best help him. She has proven to be hard-working, and determined, against great odds. Last month, Patricia got her driver’s license! Though she has saved some money to buy a car, she has been unable to afford a safe and suitable family vehicle. The availability of used cars is still extremely tight. Pricing remains high. Patricia is also faced with high insurance premiums and very high-interest rates because she is a first-time driver with no credit history. Without more money down, monthly payments are unworkable for her. We are reaching out to our congregations and communities to raise an additional $5000 so Patricia can put more money down and have reasonable payments. As we know, living in New Hampshire without a car makes life extremely difficult and limiting. For Patricia, having her own vehicle will be a huge step towards independence. We are all proud of what Patricia has accomplished so far. Please help Patricia and her family get to this next level in her life! To make a partial donation, click on the general donation tab and make a note in the comment section at checkout that it is for Patricia's car! $100 donation on 6/7. $100 on 7/1. $100 on 7/14/23. Mattress & Bed Frame Set
Maribel is a 17-year-old minor trying to establish herself in the busy city of Miami, FL. Maribel migrated to the U.S. to seek safety and refuge as she felt her life was in danger in her home country of Honduras.
Maribel’s adaptation to the U.S. has not been easy as she has had placement stability issues and is currently sleeping on a damaged air mattress being held together by duct tape. This caseworker felt the minor’s pain and struggle during a recent home visit and is hoping that a generous donor can assist Maribel during such a trying and sensitive time. A twin bed mattress and frame set is being requested for the minor to have access to this basic necessity and therefore be able to peacefully and comfortably sleep at night. The minor’s cousin is very humble and unfortunately not able to help the minor in this aspect. The minor expressed that this donation would mean the world to her and hopes that someone is able to help her. Posted 4/25/23.

Uber Gift Card
This gift request will greatly benefit an unaccompanied child with Church World Service (CWS). Our minor RVL has been residing in the United States since May of 2022 and is being sponsored by their paternal aunt who is dependent on her spouse for financial support. With two other dependents and a one-income household, transportation is hard to access for the family and RVL in particular, due to time and the financial barrier.
With the support of the case manager and some local community support, RVL has been able to access limited transportation services. Right now, RVL is in need of some dental work and there is a local agency that has offered to cover those costs for the needed work. To bridge the gap and begin this needed dental work process, RVL will need support with transportation to and from appointments. It would mean the world to RVL and the case manager supporting this case to receive this gift! Posted 3/29/23.
